Why is Sunshine Savings Bank making changes to overdraft coverage?
A new federal regulation is changing the way we authorize and pay your ATM and everyday debit card transactions. The new federal regulation allows you to have a choice regarding payment of your ATM and everyday debit card purchases into overdraft. You can consent to have such transactions paid into overdraft and the overdraft fee will be assessed on the account. Otherwise, such transactions will be declined and you can present cash or an alternative form of payment to complete your purchase.
With the Debit Card Overdraft Service:
- You can request that we add the service to your checking account if you would prefer to avoid declined everyday debit card and ATM transactions.
- This is a discretionary service that may help you avoid declines ’Äî important especially if you do not have an alternative form of payment to complete an important purchase. You may opt-out of the service at any time by contacting us at 850 219-7312.
- Our standard overdraft fees will be assessed for any debit card or ATM transactions that are paid to cover overdrafts on your account.
- Payment of overdrafts under the Debit Card Overdraft Service is discretionary.
